A BETTER WEYLANDS

A LONG-TERM VISION FOR WEYLANDS TREATMENT WORKS

The application for the former Weylands Treatment Works site proposes to transform the existing waste and commercial layout, which has been long-established on the site but falls outside of the control of the planning system. A modern commercial estate with a separate affordable housing area is proposed, designed to the highest environmental standards with supporting transport and green infrastructure. The development offers a unique opportunity to improve and enhance the local area, restore land at the eastern end of the site to high performing Green Belt and to provide a catalyst for regeneration and enhancement of the adjoining Hersham Trading Estate.

Following our planning application submission in November 2022 we would like to invite you to an in-person event to view the updates and changes that have been made to the proposals. This public information event is event is taking on 7th February between 2:30pm and 7:30pm at Esher Rugby Club, 369 Molesey Road, Hersham KT12 3PF.

Centuries of history provide the foundations of Northumberland Estates, which invests in the long-term.

We are a privately owned family business that take decisions based on a long-term view and are committed to responsible stewardship of all our properties, respecting the environment and bringing positive change to local communities.

As a privately-owned, family-run business we can have a focus on quality and sustainability in a way that others arguably cannot. Our heritage and legacy have established our remit and they are both of great importance and value to us.

As owners of the Weylands Treatment Works, it is our aspiration to deliver wider long-term social, and environmental benefits for local residents.

Our neighbours are vital in helping us shape our plans.

We cannot deliver successful change at Weylands alone. Our aspirations will continually evolve through discussion with residents, existing businesses, and Elmbridge Borough Council, as we engage, listen, and respond to the public’s views. We are not only committed to fully consult, but we believe that success cannot be achieved without the input of our neighbours and other stakeholders.

At the appropriate time, we will be presenting our early concepts and emerging designs to the local community and stakeholders, via surveys, public drop-in exhibitions and online updates.
